During my Departures days, I traveled by air, land, and lake to profile Argentine chef Francis Mallmann on his private island in Patagonia, interviewed Daniel Humm when he first turned Eleven Madison Park plant-based, Gabriela Hearst during her time as the creative director of Chloe, Ian Schrager in a nostalgic return to Studio 54, Bjarke Ingels on saving Manhattan from flooding, and more. I reported on the flourishing contemporary art scene in Seoul, spent a week in Copenhagen with the Noma team, and explored the jungles and beaches of Belize guided by the philosophies Francis Ford Coppola sent me.
