Ebates needed a way to get people excited about their referral program. So we created a challenge: $1,000 prize for the most referrals attained. But with a catch. They didn’t know when the deadline was.

 

We dropped a cryptic meme-style video announcing the challenge then introduced a special surprise to heighten the stakes: the money was frozen in blocks of ice. The new deadline? When it melted.
